Sat in a welding shop for 20 years, runs if bottle fed, all glass is there, complete. $800 I'm thinking it's a cool project.

I'm feelin risky so for $800 and a mountain of work, why not?

Hell, I've brought back worse. I love gm a-bodies, so I'm biased, but I think it's avery doable project.
It's worth it for the glass and salvagable trim.

That's more than what I have the time, ability, and money for.

I wouldn't doubt your ability, gm a-bodies are easy.
As long as you know the right people with the right tools, it's probably doable with help.
Money and time; on the other hand...

most of the sheet metal looks pretty good.
I too love me some A body

The sheet metal might be deceptive since its caked under 20 years of shop dust.
It will have rot like they always do, namely in the rear quarters, behind the front fenders, trunk/floor, and under the front windshield.
Quarters and trunk/floors are easily done.
The hardest part is under the windshield, which I had to fabricate when I did my Cutlass, but those are now reproduced.
The area behind the front fenders will only be rotted if leaves were allowed to fall down there, but they are not to difficult to repair with some home depot sheet metal and bendind.
